ABOUT BAD HABIT STUDIOS
We’re not just a studio. Bad Habit is the beating heart of Eastbourne’s DIY music scene — a space where local artists, producers, musicians, and weirdos (the good kind) come together to create, collaborate, and build something that lasts.
We’re proud to be a rehearsal room and recording studio in Eastbourne that actually gives a shit about the people who use it. Whether you’re looking for a space to record your next release, practise with your band, or meet new collaborators — we’ve got you.
Our vision? To build and protect a space that feeds the scene — somewhere people can meet, experiment, fail, start again, and do things their own way. We work closely with local promoters and use the studio as a kind of creative noticeboard. Bands find bandmates here. Promoters find artists. People find venues, ideas, and new mates. If you’ve got a flyer, a poster, or business cards — bring ’em. We welcome it all with open arms.
This isn’t about gatekeeping or clout. It’s about keeping Eastbourne loud, inclusive, and full of life.
The Story So Far
Bad Habit didn’t start with us — and we like it that way.
Before we stepped in, the space was looked after by Drew from 2019. He kept it alive, real, and accessible, and helped a load of local artists find their feet. And before that, a lot of people still remember this place as Chapel Studios — a name with its own stories.
We took it on to keep the flame going. We want to sustain the incredible work that Drew did and continue keeping this place alive. Because that’s what Eastbourne’s creative scene is built on — people passing the torch, showing up, and lifting each other up.
What We Stand For
- Community. We’re all in this together. The studio belongs to all of us.
- Don’t be a dick. No room for ego. No space for hate.
- Trust. We’ve got your back. You’ve got ours.
- Inclusion. Whoever you are, whatever you make — you’re welcome here.
- Transparency. No gatekeeping. No hidden costs. No corporate fluff.
We’ll keep updating this page with more about what we’re doing and why we’re doing it — and yeah, for SEO too, because we want people to actually find us. So if you’ve been googling things like:
- band practice rooms Eastbourne

…then you’ve landed in the right place. Come say hi.
